This morning we spotted a recap from the NYC Design on a Dime benefit at the Quintessence blog and immediately got inspired for our Fancy Girls!
Design on a Dime features more than 50 of the world’s top interior designers, who create unforgettable room vignettes with new merchandise, which is donated and then sold for 50 to 70 percent off retail pricing!
Perhaps our favorite room from the blog, as we looked with a Fancy Girl eye, was the absolutely delish (pun intended) pink room designed by Cullman & Kravis–and decorated with candy! I’ve seen candy used before in home decorating shows like Dear Genevieve; it’s no doubt a bright, cheerful, and inexpensive way to decorate. (disclaimer: we will not be held responsible if this idea leads to cavities at the next dentist visit!)
Here’s a budget friendly thought: to replicate the wall decor that was brilliantly developed by Christian Jaillite, visit one of your Fancy Girl’s favorite candy stores with your camera and snap some photos while you’re there (of course you’ll have to buy some candy too). Have them enlarged and framed so she can wake up with a sugary disposition every day (fingers crossed).
You can also find colorful polka dot bedding at Pottery Barn Teen, Walmart, CompanyKids.
