Just the other day, I was bumming over the fact that the Gap/kate spade collaboration was only a limited-edition event (I was able to snatch the blue pants with white bows for Big Sis as a Christmas gift). I must have some sort of fashion premonition power, because my wish to see more was granted by the fashion house itself. Just this morning I saw in my Facebook newsfeed this adorable image of a little girl’s graphic T, striped fit & flare skirt, and pink satchel announcing the new kate spade childrenswear line! And it is just as cute and sweet as the Gap collection, and more! That squeal that my girls do when they see anything Frozen related? Yeah, that was me learning about this line. When you go to the landing page of the collection, there’s a simple image to capture your attention and drive home the essence of the collection. But even before I clicked the link to see more, the striped skirt had ‘kate spade fashionista in training” written all over it! These clothes are quintessential kate spade for the younger set. The color palette reminds me of Eloise, with the black, white and pink. This is a young, impressionable (and maybe a little mischievous) city girl (or wannabe), who is curious and inquisitive about everything and loves dressing and feeling like a princess. There’s definitely some iconic style icon influence here too, as I’m getting an Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O vibe. And I can totally picture Ivanka Trump picking up a few of these pieces for her daughter. The clothing is available for girls sized 2-16, and will soon be followed by sizes for babies and newborns later this year. Below are 2 outfits put together with my fancy girls in mind, but you can start shopping for your own here.
