Whether you are ready for it or not, the fashion and retail world has been ready for fall for well over a month. If you hit the stores or browse online, you should have seen jeans, sweaters, jackets and more for back to school shopping season. We got started with our own shopping list this week and will take advantage of the camp-free weeks ahead to finish up.
Even though trends cycle and seemingly never change, especially for kids, there has been a consistent growth in more vintage-inspired styles and colors as well as an urban street style reminiscent of women’s fashion. Destructed denim is everywhere, and you can’t be a fashionista without a bomber jacket! But let’s not forget about the rise of the emoji! We saw emojis, doodles, and animal faces show up all over the fashion world – both kids and adults- and it’s not going away. And why should it! The quirky motif is only getting bigger, bolder, more colorful and fun! We are also seeing a big rise in the girl power movement. The ditzy themed tops are fizzling out and are being replaced by empowering messages. Some other notable trends: denim from head to toe, mustard yellow, military style, stars/celestial, millennial pink and geometric/color block prints. When it comes to dressing kids though, rules don’t really apply. Kids wear what they want and are usually more willing to get a little silly. Below are some trends you’ll see this fall from retailers and luxury designers.
