It’s school picture time! While you might be tempted to get new outfits and haircuts, consider the following 4 tips to make it an enjoyable experience for everyone:
- Plan your outfits in advance. Just like the first day of school– or any day– the last thing you want to worry about is what to wear for school picture day. You will need time to do hair as well, so you don’t want to waste a lot of that time with outfit choices. If outfit choices are usually a battle, give your daughter choices that you would be happy seeing in her photo. Let her have the final say.
- Select clothing that’s both comfortable and flattering on your child. Pick out colors that look best and try to avoid any bold prints or oversized logos/graphics. Remember that the focus (no pun intended) is on your child and not what’s on her shirt/dress.
- Make hair easy and styled away from her face. Don’t fuss with too many accessories– the bow you put in her hair might not stay in by the time pictures are taken. Things like hairbands, barrettes, and braids are fine, as long as nothing is too distracting. It might be a good idea to practice hairstyles so you can see what looks best in photos.
- Take some pictures while she’s all dressed up to keep for yourself. Why not!
