Bold printed leggings are everywhere. I’m always drawn to the different designs, but fall short on buying any for myself. I never think I can pull it off for everyday wear (as opposed to activewear), but with kids is different. Have you seen children’s clothing stores? There are bold colors and patterns everywhere! Kids can pull off mixing prints and colors; it goes with their lively energetic personalities. And if yours are dressing themselves, you might just discover a color/print combination you never considered before. Which brings me back to the printed leggings. Middle Sis has 2 pair of printed leggings by Mommy’s Little Sunshine that I got at Jane.com for a mega steal! Of my 2 older daughters, she’s the bold one. While my eldest likes her blacks, blues, grays and whites, Middle Sis loves florals, animal prints, sequins, polka dots, bright colors, you name it. She loves these leggings so much that I’ve had to get creative so she wasn’t wearing the same thing over and over again. Below are 2 ways to have fun with prints without having TOO much fun!
1. Skirt & Top: You can play it safe with either a black or jean skirt, or go with something that matches one of the colors in the leggings. Keep things simple on top like a graphic T, and depending on the weather, keep the shoes pretty neutral too. Middle Sis loves her ballet flats and the silver actually helps to tone down the bottom half of the look.
2. The denim vest/shirt: You can always count on denim to go with anything. Rather than go with a bulky denim jacket, we went with a light denim sleeveless shirt layered over a cream ruffled top. The denim adds a little extra character to the outfit without going over the top.
