I have one of those love-hate relationships with impulse shopping, where the love-hate is with my own behavior. I know EXACTLY why those products are put at check-out, but I still fall prey to the lure. Thankfully, some stores have replaced the usual candy and snack food with beauty and home needs, but that only heightens my desire to shop. Lately, though, I’ve gotten pretty good at browsing and not buying. Except for the 3 things that have become part of my daily routine.
Since I work from home, I don’t require much in terms of my daily beauty routine. I would say that I have a 30-second face since, after applying my Rodan + Fields Soothe products, I either go with nothing else or only mascara- especially if I’m leaving the house. Recently, I’ve added a few other small things to my routine, and all were purchased at checkout in different stores.
The 3 beauty items that were purchased on impulse but are now party of my daily routine are:
- Benefit Roller Lash, ULTA – This mascara has given the most height to my short little lashes. If I’m going out for a special event, I’ll apply a second layer to make my eyes really pop. I don’t usually get excited enough about mascara to write about it, but the Benefit mascara has been a winner.
- Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Caramel Daisy, Tuesday Morning – Since I usually go with no color, this is as close to nothing you can get. I’m wearing it in both the photo above and below.
- Shea Moisture 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, CVS– I have Keratosis pilaris on my arms and legs and have tried a bunch of things to make it less noticeable. After reading about the benefits of coconut oil for the condition, I thought I’d give it a try. I apply it to my lower legs and it seems to be working – slowly but surely. I know I can just use a jar of coconut oil, but this works well too. Plus, it fits better in my bathroom cabinet.
