My blogger friend Alicia, aka Chica Fashion, recently launched a fashion box for girls aged 5-8 and 9-12+ called Mini Chica Fashion Box. Since the first set of boxes ship on June 20th, I wanted to make sure you knew all about the product and why your Fancy Girls will love what’s inside.
Where did the idea of the box come from?
The idea came when I was searching for a product or service to provide my readers with. As a blogger, you’re told in every conference that the best way to monetize your blog is to offer a product. My daughter has always been a big part of my blog; she’s been in many outfit posts and her favorite part of me having a blog are mail days with items for her. I knew another beauty and fashion box for women would get lost in the mix, so I assumed that, like my daughter, other little girls would love special packages.
How involved was your daughter in the design and choosing the products?
She wasn’t involved too much, although she was the main inspiration from concept to design I choose everything in relation to the logo to color schemes
How is your box different from others for girls? What types of products can girls expect?
It started off as a monthly subscription box, but in the midst of launching, I decided to nix the subscription part. As a budget savvy mom I know I can’t afford to pay each month for a box for my daughter. And even though people could skip the month, I found that having a one time box that’s available to purchase any time may be more appealing. Girls can expect 4 to 6 items ranging from health/beauty, fashion accessories, stationary and tasty treats!
What was your favorite part about creating this business?
My favorite part has been seeing it go from an idea to concept to a physical item and ready-to-ship box. There was a lot of fear and doubt in investing and starting a new venture, but seeing it come to life and having my daughter take part in photo shoots or suggesting items for the box was fun. I want her to see that even if you’re scared or may fail, it’s amazing to just follow through and go after your heart’s desire.
