Calling all grown-up Fancy Girls! Here’s your first look at the Wildfox Couture Barbie Dreamhouse Collection launching November 15th. Barbie has had a major influence in her 65 years on everyone from little girls to iconic fashion designers like Bob Mackie. As fashion evolves and changes with every decade, Barbie has been right there sporting the major fashion trends. This fall, Mattel teamed up with Lord & Taylor, Forever 21 and Wildfox Couture to deliver a Barbie collection representing her most iconic decades of fashion. Wildfox Couture took on the 80s and all it’s bubblegum pop glory.
In the late summer, I had the chance to send my sister and future sister-in-law into the city to preview the collection. They commented that the clothes where soft, lightweight, and good quality. This collection is so much fun; you can easily forget about being a grown-up for a little while with pieces like a confetti print L.A. sweater or the “It’s Your Birthday? Mine Too!” top. Take a look below at some of the other items they spotted in the showroom.
The Wildfox Kids Resort Collection is the Skipper to the Barbie Dreamhouse. Entitled “Double Trouble,” this is a Best Friends Collection of graphic T’s in coordinating colors. There is plenty of the 80’s vibe here too with pastel and primary colors in sporty and animal graphics. I had my girls peruse the look book and shared their favorites below. The clothes are available at major department stores like Bloomingdale’s, Saks, Nordstrom and specialty boutiques such as Lester’s. Prices start at $38.
