New York City-based childrenswear designers Andy & Evan recently announced the launch of their long-awaited girls clothing line and e-commerce site. The high-end apparel company started out exclusively for boys and was sold at Saks, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Von Maur, Bloomingdale’s, and other high-end retailers across the world. They gained a loyal following of parents around the world, including celebrity moms Ivanka Trump and Alyssa Milano.
The brand focuses on classic looks for under $100 that are fun and easy to wear. The girls collection features a mixture of tailored cuts with trendy, geo/floral prints and lots of textured fabrics like eyelet, lace and tweed. They even have a Princess Kate dress! I really appreciate brands that focus on the classics– in print, color and cut– that can be worn for all occasions and are interchangeable. The Andy & Evan designs are beautiful yet playful and thankfully affordable!
When asked who the Andy & Evan girl is, Pearl and Hakalir said that she’s preppy and fun:
The Andy & Evan girl is preppy but super fun. We want the vibe to be classic with an unexpected, whimsical twist. We learned with boys that it’s all about the little things. A popping neckline accent or colorful zipper can make all of the difference. We took this knowledge with us when we began developing girls and all of our pieces have a ton of functional detail. The back closure may be a keyhole with the a pretty bow button detail. If there is a zipper, it’s often a popping color.
