It took awhile, but the sun finally brought the warmth! A few weeks ago I ordered brightly colored off-shoulder tops for the girls from FabKids, but they haven’t been able to wear them because of the FREEZING temps! Now it’s spring break and we’re getting treated to some real vacation weather. The first morning of break, we hopped in the car and took a quick day trip to Asbury Park, NJ to roam the boardwalk and to take pictures in front of the colorful murals adorning sides of the former casino. (the architecture is just exquisite!) They’re the type of murals you see on Instagram and can’t wait to take pictures in front of them as well. Since my girls are used to posing in their new clothes for the blog, I had them wear their FabKids clothes to the beach for a little photo shoot. What I didn’t realize, was that there was even more art than I thought! I was on the hunt for a mermaid mural that I had seen in a few of my client’s wedding & engagement shoots, but as we walked up to the north end of the casino, the mural below caught my eye. It’s called “Sea of Change” by Pau Quintanajornet, and the colors are a perfect compliment to the clothes.
And here’s the mermaid!
We also got in some playground time on the beach.
While it seems as though the tops the girls are wearing are SOLD OUT, you can still shop chambray styles here. And if you are not a member of FabKids yet, use my invite link to join!
Below are even more off-shoulder styles to get for spring and summer. I have to the totally honest here for a sec and say that I was a little iffy about the off-shoulder trend for the girls. I like it for grown women and thought it was a little too mature for girls. However, once they put the clothes on, I realized just how cute they are — and age appropriate! I still feel as though the off-shoulder look isn’t for every setting. I already gave my girls instructions on how off-shoulder tops are on-shoulder for school, and they totally got that. If you’re not sure about this style yet for your girls, there’s always the cold-shoulder style.
Have a look below at the off-shoulder styles available for spring/summer, and let me know what your Fancy Girl would love to wear! (Full disclosure: I would wear all of these if they came in grown-up sizes!)
