August is Children’s Eye Health and Vision Safety Month. It makes sense that the month before school starts is when we need to take a second look at our child’s eyes and see if there’s a need to get them checked before school starts. It’s also important to note that sunglasses play an important role in protecting young eyes. According to a blog post written by Dr. Mary Boname, an optemtric physician in Princeton, NJ, “Nearly half the time we spend outside during our lives happens while we’re kids. In addition, children’s eyes aren’t as good at screening out UV rays as adult eyes are. Parents and guardians should purchase sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen for children and make sure they wear them.”
Any time of year is a good time to get a new pair of sunglasses for your children. As long as the sun is shining, there will be a need for sunnies! And end of summer is usually a good time to get some fun and bright summer colors on sale! We love the collection at Kohl’s and yes, they’re on sale!
