Shopping for Halloween is an exciting time for kids. Costumes can reignite their imaginative side and open up possibilities for creativity and endless play. Costumes are not just a Halloween thing either- how many times has your fancy girl put on her favorite Disney princess dress or old ballet costume to reenact her favorite scene from a  movie? And parents, do you dress up with the kids on Halloween? Do you have a family costume or do you wear a few holiday-related accessories for trick-or-treating? I can tell you from personal experience how much the holiday becomes a bonding activity when you get in on the excitement with your kids. Plus, it’s fun tap into your imaginative side to be someone/something else for a night. Now that I have you planning your own Halloween party, take a look at what some  top picks for everyone in the family (furry friends too), and get your house ready with the top picks for indoor and outdoor decor.

While you’re busy taking advantage of all the amazing deals today, make sure that you sign-up for e-mails at to gain early access to sale items, exclusive offers and secret surprises surrounding the sale. And if something you ordered doesn’t fit or if someone changed their mind, offers easy exchanges with its hassle free exchange policy, and also has guaranteed on-time delivery.

Now let’s get back to the task at hand: costume shopping for your Fancy Girl (and family). has made it easier for her to get started with some costume inspiration (especially if she’s part Elsa, part ninja). For example, it should be no surprise that the some of the top costumes for girls are Mal from Disney’s Descendants, the Elsa Frozen Fever dress, the original Elsa dress (the delux child costume is only $9.97!) and Star Wars Rebels’ Sabine. Tween/Teen girls will also find Elsa on their top list, but also more mature options like Monster High’s Frankie Stein, The Mad Hatter, Werewolf Girl and Clever Alice.

I enlisted the help from our junior editor Bella who shared her thoughts on her Clever Alice costume:

Halloween is almost here and I am getting ready.  I decided to try the Alice in Wonderland costume. This costume is a very adult Alice but worn with a sweater or tank top (or pinned and sown as suggested by my mother) it is ok for a preteen like me. It has gloves, a headband, stockings, and a dress. I especially like the gloves on this costume. Out of 10, I would give it a 8.

While my girls get excited over their costume request, I excitedly start to plan my decor. Every holiday season I give my mantelpice a makeover. It’s the one area of the house that’s truly mine and all mine! It’s a restricted space which keeps my spending under control, but as a focal point of the room, it gives me plenty of design inspiration. The main elements of my theme include spiders with a black & purple color palette. Most of the decor has that Victorian Halloween style that’s popping up everywhere. I like adding to my collection a little very year, and needed something else to fill in the empty space above my already towering vase. By using the Indoor Decor Top 10 list, I was able to find exactly what I needed: a glitter chandelier kit.
