One of my favorite times of day while we’re on vacation on Long Beach Island, NJ is the sunset.
First off – I count my blessings every day that we even have the option to spend part of our summer vacation on LBI. Before I met my husband (whose family has spent generations on the island), I only knew of LBI as THE go-to destination for families during the summer and one of the hot spots for high schoolers post-prom. Since 2003, I’ve come to call it like a 2nd home. We stay at my husband’s parents’ home right on the bay, which has the most amazing view of the sunset. It’s like watching a watercolor painting coming to life– It’s that gorgeous. For the past few years since my eldest started school, we have spent a week on LBI in August. This year, we arrived early Sunday evening right in time for the sunset. After we all came back inside after the sky turned a solid pitch black, it got me thinking about sunset inspired fashion. The sunset in nature is like an ombre to fashion. I knew it wouldn’t be too hard to find some inspiration from runway looks of the past few years.
