I never used to like gold. In fact, I pretty much swore off the precious metal back in high school and refused to wear it. I became all about the silver, and in some ways I still am. BUT, in the past few years I started a love affair with metallics, and not just silver. It started with mixed metals (check out Twisted Silver!), and morphed into a preference for metallics at the holidays. As my tastes matured, and the rise of Instagram offered the perfect platform for getting inspired, I have come to see gold in a whole new light. As a color choice for decor and accessories, I actually prefer it to silver. I love me a good gold foil inspirational print or gold dotted pillow. Metallics have also been a big trend for children’s clothing this winter season and are here to stay well beyond the glitz and glamour of New Year’s. As I was collecting ideas, I quickly realized I might need 3 separate posts so I can dedicate a post for the grown-up Fancy Girl, and then another day after that for gold accessories for all ages.
