I instantly loved Pale Cloud the first time I discovered it. I was drawn to the name, which perfectly represents the sweet & sophisticated couture children’s collection, “known for fashion forward styles and mixing the highest levels of design.”
Pale Cloud was launched in 2010 by Oslo, Norway native Marion Reynolds (creative director and founder) who was inspired after the birth of her daughter. She was already an established designer with one of the top Denmark fashion houses. Leading up to the launch of Pale Cloud, she freelanced for high-end Scandinavian brands, designing accessories and semi precious jewelry.
According to her bio:
Marion chooses to work with luxurious, natural fabrics such as, silk, fine leather and cashmere because of the way they hang and how they feel against the skin. The combination of fashion forward styles with top quality fabrics, detailing and attention to fine finishing is what sets Pale Cloud apart from other children’s clothing and is the reason for Pale Cloud’s rapid expansion and success in the industry thus far. Marion’s goal is for Pale Cloud to be internationally and widely recognized for fashion, quality and detail in the children’s market.
What I love about Pale Cloud is the traditional and classic styling. There’s something a little retro about the clothing, but Marion’s choice in color and fabric makes it modern. And that is what makes the whole line so timeless; there are no trendy elements, just quality detail and design.
“Pale Cloud is a brand dedicated to the expression of style through those we love most, our children,” says Marion Reynolds. “I’ve been able to bring my vision to life with the high quality fabrics and yarns we use. It’s our commitment to detail, quality, and fashion that has garnered our rapid expansion and success so far.”
Pale Cloud is sold at Barneys as well as top department stores and boutiques in 24 different countries around the world ($60- $1,000; www.pale-cloud.com)
