My good friend Janie is helping her son raise money for Uryadi’s Village, Ethiopia’s first self-sustainable orphanage, by giving 75% of sales from her new shop with Color by Amber. Color by Amber is an eco-friendly fair trade jewelry company of pieces made with 40% recycled materials. They produce the jewelry in an eco-friendly facility that doesn’t send waste to landfills. As Creative Director Allison Dayton says in this video, “We have’t had to compromise our design to get something that doesn’t hurt the earth, this is sustainable. We’ve been able to do both.”
When you buy from Color by Amber, you can know that you’re supporting an actual person. The company supports its artisans through the Full Circle program to give the women a better future through skills, opportunities and a better living environment.
Below are some of the pieces from their girls’ line, but there is SOOO MUCH MORE! If you’re a bracelet and bangles person, I recommend starting with the Skinnies, and then go from there. Happy shopping!
