The Pantone Color of the Year has inspired me to hop back on the blog and put some shopping inspiration together. It has been over a year since my last blog post here. It was August 2017 and a point where I kind of hit a wall with the blog. When you get to a point where you’re not inspired or excited to blog anymore, you know you need to take a step back. When you monitize a blog, it becomes a lot about driving traffic, getting clicks, chasing opportunities, etc, and I just couldn’t do it anymore (while balancing my business). One of the best things about blogging, though, is the community of bloggers that become true friends. That’s what I always miss when I take a break, and that’s what I have missed the most over this year of not blogging. But at least I know they are a quick message away through IG, Facebook, text, etc.
Since pressing pause on my blog, a lot changed for me professionally: I started a part time position with one of my long-time clients, which means I’m working outside the home again for the first time in 11 years! It’s exciting and creatively fullfilling, and I am still able to maintain a few clients from my own business. All of this exciting newnewss meant that I just couldn’t balance it all (even though I was naive to think I could – but I think we all go into new scenraiors feeling ambitious). I was so busy creating content at work and fulfilling tasks for my clients, that when I did have free time, blogging was waaaaay down on the list. However, when Pantone rolled out their 2019 Color of the Year, all of those anxious I-need-to-get-my-post-up-before-everyone-else jitters came back – but in an excited kind of way! Before I stepped away from this blog, I considered changing the focus of my content to be more mom + daughter lifestyle and not just girls’ fashion. Now that I’m working in an actual office, I am inspired to bring a little more of my life into this blog. So here we go! Below is some office inspiration based on the Pantone Color of the Year: Living Coral. I will follow-up with some fashion inspo as well, and it won’t be another year before that happens!
