This week I’m renaming Friday Fresh Picks to #FCF aka Fashion Crush Friday, because I’m majorly crushing on Benevloent Jewels. I’ll tell you why…
Have you ever heard of a push present? I never did until I was pregnant with my 3rd born. If you’re new to the term too, it’s basically a “yay you did it!” present that you give to a woman after she gives birth. It could either be an “I could never do what you just did” present from the husband, or an “I’m getting something nice for myself because …Do I need a reason?” kind of present for yourself. That was me.
After having my 3rd born, I wanted a monogram necklace of the girls’ first initials. It took me a long time to narrow down the right style and design. You would think a monogram necklace was an easy thing to figure out, but I always managed to find something else, and then something else, and then a whole different idea all together. Finally after the holidays, I was settled on what I wanted and just needed to find the jeweler to make it. I wanted to stick to a budget of under $100 and figured I would just order online since getting to a store that’s not for food, diapers or kids’ birthday presents really wasn’t on my radius, like ever. After hunting around, I took to Instagram– which is basically my new Google images. After hunting #Monogramnecklaces, I discovered Benevolent Jewels. I liked the name. I loved their Instagram account, and when I went to learn more about he company, I totally caught feelings! I’l tell you why…
Benevolent Jewels is an independent online retailer out of Houston, TX that was founded to inspire beauty from the inside out. They offer chic and preppy jewelry that’s affordable and gives to a good cause. Every 6 months, the company donates 10% of its proceeds to local non-profits. In Dececmber, 2014, they donated to Patriot PAWS, a non-profit that trains service dogs for disabled veterans with mobility disabilities as well as for veterans who suffer from PTSD. In the Spring of 2014, they gave to +Works (pronounced positive works), an organization that mobilizes adults and children to use innovative menthols to tackle the cycle of bullying before it begins. Click here to learn about other organizations supported by Benevolent Jewels. From now until June 7, 2015, customers can vote on the next donation cause. The team will then select a Houston-area non-profit in the winning category to donate to. For me, Benevolent Jewels was the whole package when it came to deciding where to order my necklace from.
The ordering process was super easy. I received a confirmation email that the designers would soon be working on my piece and they would send me a tracking code when it was on its way. Since my necklace was unique in that the initials were for first names instead your typical monogram, I thought I would give it a shot and email back the customer service sender with my request to try and make the letters similar in size (the last thing I needed was for Big Sis to see that Middle Sis’s initial was a lot bigger than hers!). I was surprised that someone actually wrote back and told me they could certainly make that accommodation for the necklace design.
Finally, my necklace arrived a few weeks later (as they indicated), and I couldn’t WAIT to put it on! I opened the box, and in addition to my necklace was a fun, chunky pair of earrings too (grab them here). I ran upstairs, put on some lipstick and my favorite blue sweater (I was going out for dinner anyway), and snapped a photo for them to see on Instagram. I swiftly wrote back to my customer service rep to thank her and that I couldn’t wait to spread the love right back.
And I did… and they did too! Beneveloent Jewels rocks at customers service- by email and on social media. They even shared my picture– twice!

And Again!
And that’s my #FCF story. I hope you give their catalog a browse and do some shopping for a good cause. If you do, tell me what you got!
