8 Reasons to Love the Pantone Colors of the Year Rose Quartz & Serenity

We interrupt our regular broadcast of the Holiday Gift Guide to bring you HUGE news in the color world. Pantone just announced their Color of the Year… with a twist. It’s not just one color, but two! Oh those crazy kids at Pantone. The Color(s) of the Year for 2016 are Rose Quartz and Serenity.

Pantone Color of the Year 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity

In direct contrast to past selections of deep, bold hues, the 2016 choices are soft and soothing. Maybe this is a hint that we need to chill a little. But actually, the colors were chosen as a nod to gender equality. Click here to read up on the Colors of the Year, and continue below to see how stunning the two colors look together. All of the images are from the Pinterest board where there’s even more ideas (especially for weddings!).

Aww give it a chance haha just kidding. That’s how I felt about Marsala last year, but it grew on me the more I saw it. I like it best for events like weddings and showers.

I don’t like either color in isolation but I love the two together – is that weird?

    • A Fancy Girl Must

Not weird at all! I’m that way with gold. I don’t really like it on its own but I love it when paired with certain colors.

I love the two colors – and I think we are due for something that is simple and pretty.

I totally agree. Two years ago it was Radiant Orchid, which was really strong and bold. And it took me a bit to warm up to last year’s Marsala. This is a nice departure with a social good element too.

They’re so pretty! They remind me of cotton candy.
