2014 Holiday Gift Guide: Gifts for the Little Foodie

2014 Holiday Gift Guide: Gifts for the Little Foodie

It’s Day 3 of the Fancy Girl Holiday Gift Guide! First we gave you gifts for the little trendsetter, then we shared gifts for the STEM girl, and today is all about the little foodie.

2014 Holiday Gift Guide: Gifts for the Little Foodie

My eldest Fancy Girl has always shown an interest in helping me in the kitchen, but thanks to a little YouTube star named Rosanna Pansino, she has become engrossed with baking videos and Food Network challenges. We were first introduced to her show Nerdy Nummies by way of a video of Rosanna and her sister making Ana and Elsa cakes. From there, both my girls would spend what seemed like an unnaturally long span of quiet time together just watching her various baking videos. I decided to introduce my eldest to the Food Network right around when the Halloween challenges were taking place. She was hooked! I’m already thinking of her May birthday that will most likely be cooking related. If your Fancy Girl is showing the same interest, these gifts will take her out of the pretend kitchen and turn her into the next YouTube star! (that might just be a slight exaggeration but you never know, right?)

Before I even jump into the gift picks, one idea you might want to consider is to give your little foodie a private lesson with a personal chef. It doesn’t have to be too intensive or advanced, but just enough to give her some basic baking tips (like how to crack an egg without leaving shells in the bowl) and give her the unique experience of learning from a real chef! A good starting place is to inquire at your local recreation or adult ed schools since many offer cooking classes, or just ask around and do some good ol’ Google searching. If this isn’t in your budget right now (or if this is something you’ll consider for a birthday), then consider the following gifts below.

If your Fancy Girl loves to cook, comment below with some of her favorite recipes!
