If you need another gift idea for someone who appreciates fancy things like you do, consider adding a unique ornament to their collection. It’s Day 6 of the Fancy Girl Holiday Gift Guide and I have shared a very long list of fancy & unique ornaments (there are just so many, I couldn’t limit the list).
One thing my husband and I look forward to at Christmas is to shop for a family ornament. We started the tradition before we had kids in order to create our own collection of memories rather than just having individual ornaments from our childhood (and singlehood). We don’t follow a theme or even go to the same store; we just get what we like. This year we picked out an antique silver bottlebrush wreath ornament with red painted balls from the Morven Museum gift shop in Princeton, NJ. We go there every year for their Brekafast With Santa event so the girls can visit Santa and I can take the Christmas card picture (since they wear their new Hanna Anderson dresses from my mother-in-law). The museum is also decorated with their annual Festival of Trees exhibit, with trees exquisitely designed by different garden clubs, schools, organizations, and individuals. I would love to have an custom designed tree, but there are too many special memories among our ornament collection to let them sit untouched in the basement. It’s fun to recall the significance of ornaments from your own childhood, but even more special to create new memories with your own kids. Buying ornaments doesn’t just have to just be a family thing. They make great gifts for teachers, party hosts, friends, and even work as gift toppers. As they say: great things come in small packages. Here are some fancy and unique ornaments to consider for someone on your list:
